Reflection

We found out that the electrical consumption of Hydroponic Farming is much higher than normal farming. The main electrical consumption in a normal farming is the tractor and the transport of crops. The rest is by human labor. 

In Hydroponic Farming, 80% of the place needs electrical machines to be carried out. Pumping of water, cooling systems, light and may more needs electricity. Compared to normal farming, hydroponic farming use at least 2-3 times the amount of energy needed for normal farming.

In this project, we have learnt much more about Hydroponic farming. At the start of the project, we have no idea about this and the internet also has little information about the equipments used in hydroponics farm. However, after looking through the internet thoroughly and through the consultation of my siblings, we finally found some information.

This project is very useful as we know more about Hydroponics Farming and will not be clueless when we visit other country. In the future, most of the low tech farming will be replaced by high tech farming and we ought to know more about all this things.

Equipment 5

This large aerator stones located in the water where the plants grow will keep the water highly oxygenated and the plants will be very healthy. The electrical usage is 500 W and the total usage for a day is 12KW per day.

Equipment 4

This Dual output air pump will cool and oxygenate the nutrient solution, which will keep the roots of the plants white and healthy. Farmers need not need to worry about the water becoming stagnant as this system prevents the water from stagnating.

This is a 32 Plant DWC Hydroponic System and enables 32 plants to be grown on it and has a low maintenance rate. It also has a superior performance. This equipment does not use any energy because it acts like a flower pot.

Equipment 2

This equipment is a  600w HPS Lamp/600w Metal Halide Conversion Bulb. This machine is to illuminate the Flowering Chamber and this system has a air cooled system to cool this equipment for a better performance.

Equipment 1

This equipment is a 600W Air cooled high pressure sodium lighting system (ACHPSLS). This is a cooling fan for the lamp that the plants need.

Hydroponic farming: High tech equipments

In Hydroponic Farming, High Tech equipments are used. Unlike normal farming, Hydroponic Farming does not need a huge number of human labors and a huge land to carry out. It depends on sophisticated machines and a small area.

The plants are grown in the air, water and soil, saving a lot of area. Nutrients and fertilizers are sprayed onto the roots of the plants instead of planting them in the soil. In Hydroponic Farming, not only it can save space, it also can ensure that the crops produce are in fresh and perfect quality.
